A massive oil spill in a gulf nearby damages and hurts bird and fish species native to the region.

It will be costly to clean up, and if you ignore it nothing (other than the PR and enviromentalists) will befall your nation in the short term. What do you do?

Well, since Lucyicra is rich now, we’ve decided to clean it up and heal the animals. The LP oil company (get it) caused the spill, we had them pay for all of this. And by that I mean that all the money we had to spent will come out of their paycheck until they made it all up (Tell your hungry wife and kids I said Ha). Because of this, all the money spent was quickly made up. Minus nothing (I am on a roll)

I think we will try to use as little of our money as possible and clean up only the most harmful parts of the oil spill (like water and food sources) So no more animals or people would get sick. This might not be the best idea, but no risk, no reward.

I threaten the neibhor who sent the boat through my territory (I have outlawed oil)
and make him sign an enviormental protection treaty. I cordon off the area and clean
it up, no matter the cost. The cost is relativly high, but that does not matter. The spot
is turned into a no fishing or visiting zone for 10 years to let the environment regrow.

The Theocracy of Duckri has decided to fine the greedy oil workers money and make them clean it up. Until that happens, the duck species of lesser intellect have been rehabilitated in hospitals. The money from the fines and the cost to rehabilitate have canceled out.
